Photographic Art

Photographic art is fast becoming a way of expressing oneself.  It covers a vast range of topics and can be widely interpreted by each, individual viewer.  Photographic art adorning greeting cards is not a new concept.  But it is always interesting.  Each photographer/artist has their own view of things, and their own style(s) of capturing sights around them.

For collectors, photographic art as greeting cards (and postcards) offers an inexpensive way to collect or share these rare works by talented artists.

The photographic art cards being offered for sale here serve as a way to produce income for maintaining the various websites we produce for you.   Without the need to clutter the sites with banners, buttons, and other things that create what we call "commercial clutter."  While greeting cards are primarily featured here in our online store, the pictures here may be purchased as prints too (in sizes 8x10 or 11x14).

What's available?
Besides the photographs that you'll see on our catalog pages.  Almost any photo that you find on our websites can be made into a greeting card.  Using a generic inscription, or one that you provide.  Just make a note of the name of the jpeg file displayed on the particular web page, then come back to the store and place your order.  Here's the steps:

  • Go to the store and click the Enter Shop button.
  • On the first catalog index page is displayed, find the Any Photo Card linked text.
  • Click on it to go to the catalog page, fill-in the blanks, and proceed with your order.
  • (You may also do a search for the Any Photo Card page and click on the resulting link.)
  • These fully customized cards are just $3.50, just like all of our cards for sale here.

WCP-NM.COM offers the photographic art of photographer (and webmaster) W. C. "Bill" Porter.  Who has been making photographic recordings --artistically-- ever since graduating from highschool. (A very long time ago.)

Some of Bill's photos have graced the covers of magazines.   Some have accompanied a series of articles on ghost towns of the southwest (written by author Bill Allen), featured in Grain Producers News (Amarillo, TX).  Making a living in the mid-70s on the rodeo circuit, a good number of rough-riding rodeo photos have been published by various newspapers in New Mexico, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.   The Photographic Society of America (PSA) Journal published a 'how-to' article on the rigors of being a rodeo photographer in 1978.  Which was authored by Bill, containing several of his best works at the time.  Bill has owned several photography studios, and fulfilled assignments for various commercial entities.

Currently, Bill still prefers 35mm slide film as his primary medium in producing his photographs.  But recent advances in digital camera technology has found him dabbling with the electronic cameras.  For use in website creations, it has alot of merit and reduces the production times.

Recognizing that you, the customer, may indeed be purchasing some of these cards for collecting purposes.  Here's another offer.   To help you in your investment for the future, the photographer will autograph cards upon request.

The medium used for producing the greeting cards is high quality color ink, digitally mastered and printed directly on the highest quality card-stock papers.  Yielding beautiful, vibrant colors and exacting detail.  Not only does WCP-NM.COM want you to be a satisfied customer, but the photographer has to be pleased by the results before allowing them to be sent out to you.

If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to ask.  Use our convenient comment form or send email directly to Bill.
