Stamp Art of Gunman & Bank Robber Butch Cassidy
The most famous photograph of Robert Leroy Parker, aka Butch Cassidy was used on this commemorative faux postage stamp. The photo was made of "Butch" during his incarceration at the Wyoming State Penitentiary in Rawlins, Wyoming. Following his release from that stay for stealing horses, he formed a gang that was later dubbed "The Wild Bunch." You've no doubt heard that their first bank robbery took place in a mining camp named Telluride. A place that Butch and his gang would undoubtedly have to travel through present day Olathe, Colorado, the home of The Olathe Poste, in order to easily arrive at the bank in Telluride from their hideout at Brown's Hole.
The Gunmen & Great Chiefs series artistamp of Cassidy highlights a brief bit of historic information about Butch, and is further enhanced with a six-gun graphic. The stamp art presentation is double matted in Alibaster and Navy Blue. The 10" x 8" matted stamp art is backed with a 1/8" foam-core backing and sealed inside a crystal clear, archivally safe bag for protection against dust. This matted item fits into any standard 8" x 10" frame. Each piece is wrapped in bubble wrap to protect it during it's journey from our hideout (Olathe, Colorado) to yours.
