Limited Edition $5 Coyote Stamp First Day Cover. Only a few remaining...
First Day of Issue (February 28, 2006) Cover Envelope featuring the first-ever coyote conservation stamp.
Commercial size #10 envelope is cacheted with same image used for the stamp, but in black & white. Each First Day Cover with Coyote (canis latrans) $5 stamp is authenticated with official First Day cancellation issued by The Olathe Poste, at Olathe, Colorado and bearing the February 28th issue date. Each cover envelope is also franked with a USPS 2006 Crops of America series postage stamp and cancelled with a matching, pictorial Mailer's Postmark. The pictorial postmark, Permit No. 001 and one of the official postmarks of The Olathe Poste, shows the nocturnal coyote howling against a symbolic full moon (the CDS portion of the postmark symbolizing the moon).
$5 Coyote (Canis Latrans) stamp First Day Covers are signed by the artist (photographer & stamp designer, W. C. "Bill" Porter), dated and numbered.
Each of these remaining first day covers are packaged with the collector in mind. They are sealed inside clear polyethylene with a stiff, cardboard backer to gaurd against bending.
