Bank & Train Robber Legend Butch Cassidy
Born in Beaver, Utah, Butch's stone-like pose on this fake postage stamp is the image he's most known by. The image (portrait) was actually a mug shot made of Butch at the Wyoming Territorial Prison following his first arrest and conviction for stealing horses prior to his fame as leader of the "Hole In The Wall Gang." Butch Cassidy is also well known for his participation, along with Sundance and the gang escalating their outlaw careers as bank robbers, by robbing the bank at Telluride, Colorado (not far from Olathe, CO). Stamp image size: 15/16" x 1-1/4".
